Setup Schedule: Targets

You use the Targets tab to define the quality targets, material ratio targets, and parameters that are used in the target scheduling algorithms.

When you use targets in your schedule, MineSched automatically allocates resources to the locations that are available and chooses the blocks to mine within the locations in a way that best meets the targets.

If you do not use targets when you schedule, you must define the mining sequence manually in order to meet the objectives of the schedule. In short-term and underground scheduling, defining the mining sequence manually is usually the most suitable approach. However, it is important to use targets when scheduling most medium-term to long-term surface scenarios.

The Targets tab contains the Quality targets, Material ratio targets, and Target parameters data grids. Each data grid exists on an individual tab on a pane on the right of the Targets tab. The locations are displayed in the 2D Canvas.

When you move the pointer over a location in the 2D Canvas, the rows in the data grids associated with the location are highlighted. If you move the pointer over a row in one of the data grids, the associated location is highlighted in the 2D Canvas.
